128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption ensures the privacy of information passing between the server of the credential or document grantor and the RepositBox servers, and also between a viewer’s Web browser and RepositBox servers. Encryption allows data to be transmitted and authenticated safely. Data cannot be compromised when SSL is in use, and through SSL, the identity of the server computer can be verified. Furthermore:
- Once posted to a RepositBox by the grantor, a credential or important personal document cannot be altered or tampered with;
- Once posted, a credential cannot be removed but it can be updated by the grantor with a newer version, and
- A RepositBox credential or personal document is not transmitted to the viewer; rather the viewer sees the image within the RepostiBox environment. For this reason the image cannot be intercepted and/or altered in transit.
